We Built Our Own Computers, edited by A.B.Bolt
This wonderful book was one of my childhood favorites and is long out of print. The last time I searched for it at amazon.com there were no copies available, new or second hand, although apparently copies occasionally come up.
I'm taking the liberty of making some sections available, photographed from my tattered copy:
- Chapter 1 with front back and back matter. A Matchbox Computer (PDF about 3 MBytes)
- Chapter 7 Jackie: a one bit relay computer with 8 bits of memory (PDF about 1.5 MBytes)
- Chapter 8 A Noughts And Crosses Machine (PDF about 1 MBytes)
I would be interested in hearing about other people's experience of the book --- contact me at milbo AT sonic PERIOD net.
